Pediatric Dentistry Meridian, Idaho
Teeth are an important part of keeping one's self healthy. This is especially important for children when the teeth are just beginning to develop and grow. It is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry that your child should receive their first dental check up by their first birthday and begin to get into the habit of proper oral hygiene.
The first visit to the dentist is an important one as it sets the mood for future visits. Our pediatric dentist and dental assistants are specially trained to care for children and ensure their first visit is pleasant and enjoyable. To assist in preparing children for their first visit, we have crafted an activity kit to assist your child for their visit.
Preventive Visits - Regular Checkups
In order to maintain your child's oral health we encourage regular checkups at least six months apart. These checkups allow our pediatric dentist to check the health of your child's teeth, gums, cheeks, and tongue, as well as check old fillings and other restorations. Other oral health problems can be treated earlier with pediatric care while they are still manageable and your child is still developing.
Our pediatric dentist is also trained in the application of children's orthodontics. If orthodontics are needed various treatment options can be discussed.
